In this second venture with Porta Via, Goineau paid homage to the Spanish Colonial Revival style of the surrounding area and the vibrant and lively architecture of the Mexican coastline, evoking the familiar feeling of a neighborhood bistro with a transportative, world-class feel. A stylistic trademark of her work that continuously references both the physical surroundings and cultural touchstones.

“We are in a new era of design, there is a sensitivity of being close to the environment and cherishing it. As the world changes at the pace of rocket fuel, we have the opportunity to redefine contemporary living in philosophical, technological and sustainable ways.”

“Quebec-trained designers are taught a holistic approach, derived from the Bauhaus. Every element speaks to the rest, the architecture, the fixtures, the interiors and the furniture design. It should be cohesive. Culture and graphic arts are mixed with architecture.”
